Ways To Transfer Files With The BlackBerry Torch
Businesspeople across the globe opt for BlackBerry devices such as the Torch 9800 more than any other type of smart phone. The reasons are simple; the phone has a perfect balance of performance, capability, style and value. When it comes to capability, what makes this phone so successful is its ability to manipulate the office files that businesspeople have to use every day. With the use of a data cable, you'll be able to transfer many other kinds of files from your computer as well.
Unlike most coveted BlackBerry Torch accessories, such as a BlackBerry Torch case and a BlackBerry Torch screen protector, Research in Motion includes a basic data cable with every one of their devices. The standard cable has a male mini-USB adapter on one end, which connects to the BlackBerry Torch 9800, and a micro-USB adapter on the other end, which connects to the PC or Mac. If you need to transfer files between a Torch and another device, you may need to purchase a micro-USB-to-micro-USB data cable. The most popular aftermarket data cable has the standard configuration, but it also features the ability to charge the BlackBerry Torch 9800 through the USB port even while transferring files.
Of course, people should also take note a much more easier and convenient way of transferring data: Bluetooth devices. Above, we mentioned a micro-USB-to-micro-USB data cable, but since most modern devices support Bluetooth, this typically isn’t necessary. However, desktop and laptop PCs and Macs have only recently begun to support Bluetooth, which means many computers still don’t have it. Of course, you could purchase a Bluetooth add-on, but most people opt for the less expensive data cable method. Simply attach the data cable to your Torch, and then attach the other end to the computer, which should then instantly recognize the connection and your Torch.
When the computer, whether it’s a PC or a Mac, recognizes your Torch, a file dialog will appear on screen. This file dialog is just like any other file dialog, and it’s an indication that the OS sees the BlackBerry Torch 9800 just as it would an internal hard drive, an external hard drive, a USB flash card and so forth. All you have to do is drag them from somewhere else on your PC or MAC, and then drop them into that file dialog. Likewise, by dragging them from that dialog to some other place on your computer, you can copy or move them from your BlackBerry Torch 9800.
The alternative to using the operating system’s built-in features is to use the BlackBerry software. But in addition to transfer files, the software also allows you to sync email accounts, contacts, music files and almost any other type of data file into your BlackBerry Torch. Once you’ve installed the software, the computer will initiate the BlackBerry client rather than a vanilla file dialog whenever it senses the BlackBerry Torch 9800 connected or activated.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a 3.7-inch touchscreen smartphone, sweeping aside
the Storm name to give RIM another crack at a keyboardless device. It arrives
with BlackBerry OS7, the same as the BlackBerry Bold 9900 which we reviewed
recently, but offering a large screen BlackBerry experience.
Touchscreen devices are the most competitive category of smartphones. With big
players producing increasingly sophisticated devices and refining the user
experience at such a pace the BlackBerry Torch 9860 faces a huge challenge.
Can BlackBerry still make an impact on the consumer space, or does forgoing a

### Design and controls
BlackBerry devices have been consistent in their design over the past few
generations. One glance and you know the Torch 9860 is a BlackBerry. The
framing of the two halves of the device with the silver band reflects a design
highlight BlackBerry have been using for a couple of years. The soft curve at
the top of the phone means you don't get a hard edge against your ear when you
make a call.
